The Nokta Makro Simplex is the most advanced and affordable metal detector. Some of the most remarkable features of the Nokta Macro Simplex include notch discrimination, adjustable iron audio, vibration mode, waterproof up to 10-feet (3-meters), retractable shaft for portability, LED back-lit screen, night detecting headlight, optional wireless headphones, and auto and manual ground balance.

Light and extremely easy to use, the Nokta Makro Simplex weighs in at only 2.9 lbs. Additional accessories such as waterproof headphones and different-sized coils can be purchased separately. It also includes a 2-year warranty.

Experts are astounded by the unbelievable price of the Nokta Makro Simplex and state that it’s closer to a $1000 detector sold at a ¼ of the price! When compared to other metal detectors, users keep wanting to see the results of the Nokta Makro Simplex vs. Garrett AT Pro, or the Nokta Makro Simplex vs. Minelab Vanquish, or the Nokta Makro Simplex vs. Minelab Equinox 600 or 800.

This is a lot to unpack. The Nokta Makro Simplex frequency runs at a single 12kHz. So it is unfair to compare it to a multi-frequency machine like the Equinox unless you want to just do a bare depth test. However, when compared to other more expensive single-frequency machines, the Nokta Makro Simplex holds its own.

  • Nokta Makro Simplex Best Settings
With four unique discrimination modes, the Nokta Makro Simplex offers detecting options for almost any environment.

    All Metal Mode
Like the name says, this mode will detect all metals with a single-tone and a low threshold tone in the background. There is no discrimination in all metal mode, so if in use, it may be best to avoid trashy sites that will overwhelm you with audio feedback.

    Field Mode
Field mode is a two-tone designed for relic hunting and is best used for less trashy sites. Go slower in field mode to get more depth.

    Park Mode
Park mode is a three-tone program with discrimination set for highly trashy areas. Ferrous/iron targets will report as low tones, medium tones represent gold foil and aluminum targets, and high tones will sound for higher conductors like silver, brass, and copper.

    Beach Mode
Beach Mode is designed for highly conductive, alkaline sand and soil, especially salty wet sand beaches. This mode features an iron discrimination option, to ignore ferrous targets. Beach mode also allows you to manually ground balance, which is important when detecting in more unstable soil/sand conditions. All non-ferrous targets will report as a single mid-tone in this mode.

    Nokta Makro Simplex Iron Volume
It is remarkable that a machine in the price range of the Nokta Makro Simplex has an iron volume option. You can adjust the volume of the ferrous signals by turning the iron volume up or down. If the iron volume is turned off, the iron will still report on the target ID screen, however there will be no tone given.

Nokta Makro Simplex Vibration OptionThe Nokta Makro Simplex offers a vibrating option that causes the detector to actually give you vibration input whenever it is over a target. The magnitude of this vibration input will vary depending on the strength and size of a signal/target. Beware however, you can miss deep weak signals if you’re only relying on vibration with no sound.

    Nokta Makro Simplex Software/FIrmware Update
Be sure to check the Nokta Makro Simplex website for any software updates.

    Nokta Makro Simplex Reviews
In a perfect world, there would be no EMI. The Nokta Makro Simplex offers a frequency shift option to help find a frequency with less EMI (electromagnetic interference). Users review that the Nokta Makro Simplex depth test can pick out a dime at 12-inches in very clean easy soil, however, the signal is extremely faint, and if a person wasn’t going slow they would miss the signal mistaking it for ground chatter.
Users report in EMI it is best to lower sensitivity levels until the Nokta Makro Simplex is stable. Also, turn your phone off or turn it on airplane mode.
Finally, users are raving about the depth of field mode, especially using frequency 3 to cut out any chatter from your pin-pointer or surrounding interference..
