Most Gold is caught within the first 4 Riffles. The Le Trap was always known as the “Bank Robber” and “River Robber” Sluice Box, and the Le’ Trap Mini comes in both versions also. It is incredibly lightweight and will always catch fine Gold and large nuggets. The Le Trap sluice weighs less than 1 pound, making it very easy to fit into a backpack.
OPERATION: The unique thing about the Le’ Trap Mini ™ is that you don’t need to have fast running water. In the faster water, angle the sluice at a flatter angle, around 5 to 7 degrees. With slower water, you can angle the sluice slightly more. However, our experience is that this sluice runs really flat and processes the Gold well. The flared riffle design causes the water flow to slow as it passes through the sluice, just like a river. The flare causes the water to slow, causing a low-pressure area for Gold to drop quickly, resulting in optimum gold recovery.
Remember all those times you had to carry heavy metal sluice boxes? That is in the past. This sluice is made of high-impact ABS plastic and will take much abuse. This ABS is the same used in many products today like Lego’s, Garbage Cans, Dash Boards in cars, Etc. ABS is designed to be used outdoors in extreme elements, which is why we use this product to produce these wonderful sluices for our customers.
